Catya Von Sparkles: “Yarr! A Pirate Cabaret: Swash Your Buckles With Big Moves”

16 09 2009

When you’ve been watching Big Move Boston up on stage, have you felt something’s been missing? No, clearly not, you respond. What else could one lucky audience member need besides luscious, talented dancers that also are charming conversationalists and know how to fold origami paper cranes?

What about if we offered you all that … and added hooks? Or a peg leg and a pirate hat? How about the crisp tang of salt water?* I bet you didn’t even know you’d been yearning for such treasures!

Saturday night, on Sept. 19, Big Moves bands together with a merry crew of some of Boston’s most talented burlesquers, singers and other assorted performance-based awesome folk for Yarr! A Pirate Cabaret!

We’ll rock the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline, Mass., like a hurricane and keelhaul the audience in a good way. Performers include: Big Moves, Babes in Boinkland, UnAmerika’s Sweetheart Karin Webb, 86-Years-Young Mary Dolan, Black Cat Burlesque, Honey Suckle Duvet, Brief Awakening, Madame Psychosis, Lolli Hoops, and special guest performer Tommy Toxic from Montreal.

Tickets are available online at or at the Coolidge Corner Theatre box office.

This very special booty call will be for one night only! Get your tickets early for this MIDNIGHT show and come in costume to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day in style. Hint: There will be a contest where a lucky few will get to sound their best, barbaric, pirate yawp!

*No actual salt water will be provided. Or encouraged. Use your imagination for that one.
